1st day. Friday or Sunday. (D)
San Francisco. Check in for one night at Handlery Union Square Hotel. Free time to see the City, the Wharf and ride Cable Cars, etc.
Choice of Italian or French Restaurant. Dinner

2nd day. Saturday or Monday. San Francisco to Yosemite. 215 miles.
Early departure, travel about 4 1/2 hours with a brief stop on the way, arriving Yosemite about 12:30. Brief Valley Sights tour.
Afternoon free. Check in 4:30 p.m.
Yosemite Lodge at the Falls.


3rd day. Sunday or Tuesday. Glacier Point. Return to S.F. 274 miles.
8:30 a.m. departure for a 4 hour, 64 mile tour to Glacier Point (about 7,200 feet elevation) OR take the 26 mile 2 hour Yosemite Valley Floor Tour. Afternoon free. 3:45 depart for San Francisco.
Check in at Handlery Union Square Hotel again for the night at 8:30pm.


4th day. Monday or Wednesday. (D) San Francisco to Monterey. 154 miles.
Leave San Francisco around 9:00a.m. Driving south along San Andreas Fault then west to the Pacific Ocean down Highway One you go through Santa Cruz.  Miles of artichoke and strawberry fields by the Monterey Bay, home of Fort Ord where armed forces once trained now students prepare for their future at California State University. Going through Monterey we stop at Cannery Row around lunch time and optional visit of the world renown Monterey Bay Aquarium. Driving along stops are made at

* 17 Mile Drive
* Pebble Beach
* Carmel by the Sea
for about an hour. Check-in to the hotel by 5:30 p.m.
Bay Park Hotel, Monterey.  Dinner


5th day. Tuesday or Thursday. (B) Monterey to Solvang. 214 miles.
* Scenic Highway One,
* Big Sur Coast,
* Coastal Redwoods,
* San Simeon,
* Tour No. 1 of Hearst Castle, ideal for first time visitors with an easy walk, a total of about 150 steps. About 2 hours.
Via Morro Bay we reach San Luis Obispo at about 3:30.  The Central Coast is home to some of the best wineries in California, a stop is made for a short tour and wine tasting.
Check-in to the hotel by 5:30 p.m.
La Cuesta Motor Inn, San Luis Obispo.


6th day. Wednesday or Friday. (B) About an hour south to Solvang, a delightful village of Danish Heritage with pastry and gift shops galore.
On to Santa Barbara for a short visit and end of the motor coach tour.
Avoiding freeway traffic Pacific Surfliner train at 2:00 takes you along the coast with magnificent scenery through Oxnard, Ventura and San Fernando Valley arriving Los Angeles Union Station at 4:55 or Anaheim at 5:49 San Diego at 7:50 p.m. Alternately Santa Barbara Airbus at 1:20 or 4:20 arrives LAX about 3:45 or 6:45.
