Disney's California Adventure

The Second year of the new millennium is going to be the biggest in the history of the Disneyland Resort! Because 2001 marks the grand opening of Disney's California Adventure Park, an entirely new, 55-acre Theme Park filled with Disney-style fun and adventures that celebrate the California experience.



Inside, Guests will find three colorful lands, each spotlighting a different facet of the California experience:

• Paradise Park
  
  Stroll back in time to when the boardwalk was the place to be for fun and excitement! Try your hand at a game of skill Swing along in a Buck Roger's style rocket on the Golden Zephyr. Drop down several stories through a forest of kelp on Jumpin Jellyfish. Buzz around an enormous orange on the back of an oversized bumblebee on the Orange Stinger. Ride the whimsical sea critters of King Triton's Carousel. Go for a spin on the spectacular Sun Wheel. Or feel the adrenaline rush of California Screamin, a classic-style coaster complete with 360-degree loop! It's a throwback experience with a modern twist that is not to be missed!



• Hollywood Pictures Backlot
  
  Slip on your shades then slip through the studio gates for a behind the scenes look at an era of Hollywood that may have only existed on the silver screen. Experience stardom from all angles as you learn the ins and outs of filmmaking and special effects. Learn all about the art of animation form real Disney Animators, then create some magic of your own in the Interactive Sorcerer's Workshop. Catch a live theatrical production at the Hyperion Theater. Or kick back and cruise along in the Superstar Limo for an outrageous look at L.A.'s celebrity scene. It's Hollywood as you've always imagined it - only way more entertaining!



• Golden State
  
  The beauty and bounty of the land and the diverse people who call it home are the inspiration for this section of the Park. Soarin Over California offers a bird's eye view of the state's scenic wonders and famous landmarks. Explore beautiful and rugged terrain along The Redwood Creek Challenge Trail, or take a heart pounding rafting expedition down Grizzly River Run. Then, savor the flavors that make native Californian foods the envy of the world at the Golden Vine Winery and the Bountiful Valley Farm - a 2 1/2 acre showcase farm that's also home to the 3D Bug's Life Theater and Bountiful Valley Farmer's Market. You'll discover even more indigenous tastes along the Pacific Wharf. But for a real sampling of what makes California great, don't miss Golden Dreams, a tribute to the state's diverse people and cultures.
